Project 2025

Project 2025, spearheaded by the Heritage Foundation, is an alt-right initiative aimed at reshaping the federal government and consolidating executive power. This project poses significant dangers to democracy. By advocating for the replacement of merit-based federal civil service workers with individuals loyal to a specific political agenda, Project 2025 undermines the principle of impartial governance. The plan's emphasis on dismantling government representation and increasing executive control threatens the separation of powers, a cornerstone of democratic governance. Additionally, the project's agenda to abolish critical race theory and gender ideology from public schools, as well as to remove terms like "diversity, equity, and inclusion" from federal regulations, raises concerns about the erosion of civil liberties and the suppression of diverse perspectives. These measures would steer the U.S. towards autocracy, compromising the democratic values of accountability, transparency, and equal representation.
